The Pulaski Red Raiders will challenge the Manitowoc Lincoln Ships at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
On Saturday, Pulaski didn't have quite enough to beat D.C. Everest and fell 5-4. The Red Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Pulaski saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Molly Molthen, who went 2-for-3 with one run. Kiera Altman was another, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Manitowoc Lincoln ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 16-14 victory over Sheboygan North. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Ships have posted since April 17th.
Manitowoc Lincoln got a massive performance out of Jordin Popp, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Peterson, who went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Manitowoc Lincoln kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 10.4.
Manitowoc Lincoln pushed their record up to 7-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.7 runs over those games. As for Pulaski, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.
Everything went Pulaski's way against Manitowoc Lincoln when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Pulaski made off with a 13-2 victory. Do the Red Raiders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Ships turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
