Softball Recap: Normal University Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tolono Unity, Normal University was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They skirted past the Williamsville Bullets 7-5. The Pioneers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Emmerson Steward was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. That run marked the first that she scored this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Molly Jones, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Normal University's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Williamsville, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Looking ahead, Normal University will welcome Rochester at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Williamsville, they will venture away from home to take on Washington at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
