Baseball Recap: Western International Comes Up Short

After flying high against King on Thursday, Western International came back down to earth. The Cowboys fell just short of the Lamphere Rams by a score of 3-2 on Friday. If the Cowboys were looking for revenge after losing 8-6 to the Rams when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Western International's loss dropped their record down to 19-8-2. As for Lamphere, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season.

Western International will square off against Cass Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cowboys 2.9, the Technicians 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Lamphere, they have already played their next game, a 7-6 victory against Cousino on the 16th.
