Volleyball Recap: Saturday's Defeat Ends Musselman's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Musselman unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Spring Mills Cardinals by a score of 2-1. The Applemen were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cardinals earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Musselman started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-16, 15-8.

Their offense was headlined by Maddie Shelton and Brielle Wolf, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Bianca Hutzler and her eight assists. Shelton was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Musselman's defeat dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Spring Mills, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-6-1 record this season.

Musselman didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Notre Dame on the 13th. As for Spring Mills, they will host Hampshire at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
