Recap: Pensacola Tigers vs. Pine Forest Eagles
The Pensacola Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 58-57 to Pine Forest. Pensacola has not had much luck with Pine Forest recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nick Jones, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jones has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jatony Jefferson, who scored 18 points along with two steals.
Pensacola now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Pine Forest, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pensacola will take on West Florida at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (West Florida is ranked 369th, while Pensacola is ranked 381st). As for Pine Forest, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Destin at 7:30 p.m.
