Basketball Game Preview: Gulfport Admirals vs. Biloxi Indians

Gulfport is 2-8 against Biloxi since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Gulfport Admirals will look to defend their home court against the Biloxi Indians at 7:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

Last Tuesday, Gulfport didn't have too much trouble with Ocean Springs as they won 62-46. Given the Admirals' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while the Greyhounds are ranked 83rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Biloxi was fully in charge on Tuesday, breezing past St. Martin 63-36. The Indians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 24 points or more this season.

Gulfport better keep an eye on Kentrell Beasley. He was instrumental in Biloxi's win, almost dropping a double-double on 22 points and nine steals. The dominant performance gave Beasley a new career-high in steals. Alan Ayala was another key player, putting up seven points and three steals.

Gulfport pushed their record up to 16-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33.2 points. As for Biloxi, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.

Gulfport ended up a good deal behind Biloxi when the teams last played back in January of 2024, losing 55-39. Can Gulfport avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
