Basketball Recap: Newton Comes Up Short

Newton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 42-39 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hopatcong Chiefs. The contest marked the Braves' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Newton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Hopatcong, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-3.

Newton will welcome Kinnelon at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Hopatcong, they will venture away from home to take on Kittatinny Regional at 1:00 p.m. on Monday.
