Football Recap: Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans vs. Regis Jesuit Raiders

Fountain-Fort Carson lost a close one when they played last Friday but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on Friday was a bit more commanding. They took a blow against the Regis Jesuit Raiders, falling 45-7. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Raiders are ranked tenth).

Greisan Follari threw for 67 yards on four of nine attempts. Kaden Little was his top target, picking up 39 receiving yards. On the ground, Da'Kari Releford Jr rushed for 42 yards and a touchdown.

Regis Jesuit got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Luke Rubley out in front who threw for 145 yards and three touchdowns. A healthy portion of that aerial production (91 yards to be exact) went to Jojo Hernandez, who also brought in two receiving touchdowns.

This is the second loss in a row for Fountain-Fort Carson and nudges their season record down to 4-3. As for Regis Jesuit, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fountain-Fort Carson will square off against Legend at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Legend is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 30.8 points per game this season. As for Regis Jesuit, they will challenge Douglas County at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
