Marlington had already won 17 in a row and they went ahead and made it 18 on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Washington Tigers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Dukes also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2015.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Marlington took every set by at least 12 points. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-6, 25-13.

Danica Sarchione paced Marlington's offense, picking up eight kills. Sarchione got some help from Cali Young and her 12 assists. Sarchione was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Marlington's victory bumped their record up to 19-2. As for Washington, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-12.

Marlington has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Norton on the 11th. As for Washington, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against McKinley on the 14th.
