Recap: Legend Titans vs. Colorado Academy Mustangs
The Legend Titans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 21 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Colorado Academy 74-41 on the road. Legend's victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Legend's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mason Borcherding, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for Borcherding. Another player making a difference was Ava Gavi, who scored 17 points along with four steals.
Colorado Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anna Johnson, who scored 16 points. The match was Johnson's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Winnie Fenton, who scored 12 points.
Legend's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Colorado Academy, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Legend won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Frederick at 2:15 p.m. on December 9th. Frederick will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 25th, while Legend is ranked second). Colorado Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Highland at 12:30 p.m. on December 9th. Hopefully Highland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 on Friday.
