Basketball Game Preview: Lincoln Lions vs. El Primero Lobos

The Lincoln Lions will challenge the El Primero Lobos at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Lincoln's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests.

Lincoln is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Saratoga just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 67-60 to the Falcons.

Lincoln might have lost, but man, Joseph Shelton was a machine: he posted 30 points and five assists. That was a full 50% of Lincoln's points, marking the third time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Emran Ali, who put up seven points.

Meanwhile, El Primero was not able to break out of their rough patch back in December of 2024 as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against Cindy Avitia, falling 68-38. One positive for the Lobos, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

El Primero's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Lincoln, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-5.

Everything came up roses for Lincoln against El Primero in their previous meeting back in December of 2019, as the squad secured a 64-24 win. In that game, Lincoln amassed a halftime lead of 33-11, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
