Baseball Preview: Castor Tigers vs. Haynesville Golden Tornado
The Castor Tigers will head out to take on the Haynesville Golden Tornado at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Castor fell victim to Lakeview and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 10-0 to the Gators. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Haynesville and North Caddo have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Thursday. The Golden Tornado fell just short of the Titans by a score of 5-4. The loss continues a trend for the Golden Tornado in their meetings with the Titans: they've now lost eight in a row.
Miller Toney put in work while hitting and pitching. He struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. Toney was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.
Toney wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Hunter LeBlanc, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.
Castor's record now sits at 7-11. As for Haynesville, their record is now 11-8-1.
