Softball Game Preview: Illini Bluffs Tigers vs. Galesburg Silver Streaks

The Illini Bluffs Tigers will take on the Galesburg Silver Streaks at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Illini Bluffs has four straight victories, Galesburg has 31 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Illini Bluffs can't be too worried about heading out to take on Galesburg: they just beat Havana at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Tigers came out on top against the Ducks by a score of 4-1 on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Galesburg lost 33-3 to Moline on Thursday.

Galesburg saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abigail Casey, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Galesburg's loss dropped their record down to 0-26. As for Illini Bluffs, their win bumped their record up to 14-5.

Illini Bluffs took their victory against Galesburg when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 12-0 score. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Silver Streaks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
