Volleyball Recap: Whitney Young Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Whitney Young entered their tilt with Taft on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 2-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in September.

Leyla Garcia paced Whitney Young's offense, picking up four kills. Garcia got some help from Jordyn McCoy and her nine assists. McCoy was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Whitney Young's win bumped their record up to 23-6. As for Taft, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season.

Whitney Young has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Kenwood on the 22nd. As for Taft, after both having extra time off, they and Glenbrook North will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on the 28th.
