Baseball Recap: Skyline's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Brighton, Skyline was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 9-4 win over the Bountiful RedHawks. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 18-4 victory the RedHawks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2016.

Skyline got a great performance from Andrew Lindquist as he struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Lindquist has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Charlie Billick was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three runs and one double. Skyline is 7-1 when Billick posts two or more runs, but 6-12 otherwise. George Zervos was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Skyline was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bountiful only posted a batting average of .185.

Skyline moved to 13-13 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Bountiful, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-15.

Skyline will have a chance to go back-to-back against the RedHawks: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
