Baseball Recap: Seminole Comes Up Short

Seminole was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 14-13 heartbreaker at the hands of the Flagler Palm Coast Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Seminoles of the 5-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Jadenlee Echavarria and Noah Johnson stepped up to the plate in a big way. Echavarria scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances, while Johnson went 2-for-6 with one home run and two runs. Brandon Simms was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his six plate appearances.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Seminole kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Seminole's loss dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Flagler Palm Coast, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seminole will venture away from home to square off against Winter Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Seminole has given up an average of 8.1 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Flagler Palm Coast, they are taking a road trip to take on Horizon at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
