Baseball Recap: Chaminade Eagles vs. Hueneme Vikings
Chaminade had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Hueneme Vikings 8-0 on Monday.
Eli Stephens was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single hit, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Jackson Tyler was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (three). Another player making a difference was Isaiah Hearn, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Chaminade kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hueneme only hit one hit.
Looking ahead, Chaminade will be taking part in a tournament against Ventura at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Hueneme, they will take on Saugus in a tournament on Wednesday.
