Flag Football Game Preview: Alisal Trojans vs. Salinas Cowboys

Alisal hasn't had much luck against Salinas recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Trojans will square off against the Cowboys at 6:30 p.m. Alisal will be strutting in after a win while Salinas will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Wednesday, Alisal didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Palma, but they still walked away with a 39-35 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.

Alisal didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Aubrey Jones and Brooklyn Smith. Another thorn in Palma's side was Daniela Quiroz-Castro, who picked up a sack and made five total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Salinas' offense. They lost to Los Gatos on the road by a 19-0 margin on Saturday. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Cowboys were not able to get on the board.

Salinas' loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Alisal, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Alisal was dealt a bruising 41-12 defeat at the hands of Salinas in their previous meeting on September 2nd. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
