Basketball Recap: South Guilford HomeSchool Comes Up Short

After flying high against Oak Forest last Tuesday, South Guilford HomeSchool came back down to earth. The South Guilford HomeSchool Cougars took a 61-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Charlotte Thunder. The Cougars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Thunder earlier this season, when they won 61-47.

Jack Porter had an outrageously good game for South Charlotte as he went 5 for 9 on his way to 27 points. Porter's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kristoffer Lang, who went 6 of 7 on his way to 15 points.

South Guilford HomeSchool's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 18-11. As for South Charlotte, their win bumped their record up to 4-11.

South Guilford HomeSchool will venture away from home to challenge Surry HomeSchool at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Charlotte, they will host Greater Cabarrus S at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
