Baseball Recap: Bluffton Takes a Loss

Bluffton fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against May River on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 12-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sharks. Surprisingly, this marked the fifth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Bradley Robbins made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Carter All, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Bluffton's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for May River, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Bluffton is set to challenge their familiar foe Hilton Head Island at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, May River will square off against rival Beaufort at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
