Basketball Recap: Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy Victorious

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 43-42 victory over the Covenant Classical Warriors. Winning may never get old, but the Patriots sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

It was another big night for Leia Garrett, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 18 rebounds. Garrett is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Alli Belk, who posted nine points and five steals.

Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Covenant Classical, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy has already played their next game, a 49-26 win against Hickory Christian Academy on the 14th. As for Covenant Classical, they will take on Greater Cabarrus S at 6:00 p.m. on January 21st. Covenant Classical is facing Greater Cabarrus S at the right time seeing as Greater Cabarrus S is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
