Baseball Game Preview: Benbrook Bobcats vs. Legacy Leopards

The Benbrook Bobcats will venture away from home to square off against the Legacy Leopards at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Benbrook is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Celina just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of Celina by a score of 2-1.

Dan Stiefvater was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Tanner Madara was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Legacy's offense. They lost 14-0 to Wylie on Tuesday. The Leopards have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Legacy's loss dropped their record down to 3-23. As for Benbrook, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-8.
