Football Recap: Buna Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Buna had lost five straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-4 to make it six. They took a 21-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the East Chambers Buccaneers. The Cougars lost against the Buccaneers in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 34-6 score last time.

As for East Chambers, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 26.8 points this season.

East Chambers' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Darius Edmonson, who rushed for 28 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Rashard Hale helped out on the ground, rushing for 91 yards.

Coincidentally, Buna and East Chambers will both be playing Hardin the next time they take the field. The Buccaneers will host the Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Cougars will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on October 10.
