Volleyball Recap: East Wilkes Comes Up Short

East Wilkes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 3-1 to the North Wilkes Vikings. If the Cardinals were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Vikings when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, East Wilkes still got an impressive performance from Gracelynn Whitt, who had 21 digs and one assist. Whitt is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 19 every time she's taken the court this season.

East Wilkes' loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for North Wilkes, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-3.

East Wilkes didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against West Wilkes on the 28th. As for North Wilkes, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Wilkes Central on the 28th.
