Basketball Recap: Vassar Takes a Loss

Vassar lost against Millington back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Vassar Vulcans might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Millington Cardinals an easy 49-23 victory. The Vulcans were down 43-17 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Despite the loss, Vassar saw an underclassman step up: freshman Maya Mccloud posted five points and six rebounds.

Vassar's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Millington, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vassar will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Reese at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Millington and Valley Lutheran will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Millington is facing Valley Lutheran at the right time seeing as Valley Lutheran is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
