Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Karson Ray and Mason Beaver Lead Devine to Victory

Devine won the last time they faced Uvalde and things went their way on Friday too. The Devine Warhorses snuck past the Uvalde Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) with a 62-58 victory.

Devine was led to victory by Mason Beaver and Karson Ray. Beaver went 9 for 20 to rack up 24 points and five steals, while Ray went 5 of 8 en route to 17 points and seven rebounds. Those 17 points gave Ray a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Beaver, who posted 12 points and seven boards.

Devine smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Devine's win bumped their record up to 15-17. As for Uvalde, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 14 of their last 15 matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-20 record this season.

Devine didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-48 loss against Carrizo Springs on the 11th. As for Uvalde, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 89-25 defeat against Somerset on the 11th.
