Basketball Recap: Gavin Hall's Big Game Can't Quite Lead South Charlotte over Charlotte Elite Academy

South Charlotte played a tough contest on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Charlotte Elite Academy Soldiers, falling 62-41. The Thunder haven't had much luck with the Soldiers recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

South Charlotte lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Gavin Hall, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 10 points. Those ten points gave Hall a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kristoffer Lang, who posted eight points and five boards.

Charlotte Elite Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Antoine Boone, who went 5 for 10 en route to 14 points. Another player making a difference was Kaleel Benjamin, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 12 points.

South Charlotte's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Charlotte Elite Academy, their record is now 6-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Charlotte will face off against Forsyth Home Educators at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Forsyth Home Educators is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.9 points per game this season. As for Charlotte Elite Academy, they will take on Central Carolina Prep at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday.
