Baseball Recap: Fairmont Heights' Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Fairmont Heights waltzed into their matchup on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North Tigers 21-11. For the Hornets, this counts as revenge for the 25-10 win the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Jamaal Jackson was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Sellman, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Fairmont Heights kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in five consecutive contests.

Fairmont Heights' victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.5 runs over those games. As for Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-8.

As of now, neither Fairmont Heights nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
