Recap: Saraland Spartans vs. Hillcrest Patriots
With a playoff game on the line, the Saraland Spartans rose to the challenge on Friday. They walked away with a 31-21 victory over the Patriots. The victory was just business as usual for Saraland, who after 13 games remain undefeated this season.
Saraland can attribute much of their success to Santae McWilliams Jr., who rushed for 107 yards and a touchdown, and also caught a touchdown. Ryan Williams was another key contributor, picking up 92 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Several Patriots players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bryson Kimbrough, who threw for 153 yards and two touchdowns.
Saraland's victory bumped their record up to 13-0. As for Hillcrest, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-1.
Saraland is on the road again on Friday and play against Pike Road at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st. Pike Road is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 11 games. Hillcrest does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
