Basketball Recap: Palm Grove Christian Beats Ruskin Christian for Their Fourth Straight Victory

While Palm Grove Christian didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against the Ruskin Christian Warriors by a score of 62-52 on Thursday. The Gators' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Palm Grove Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gabe Troyer, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Those 12 boards gave Troyer a new career-high. Landon Riehl was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to ten rebounds and eight assists.

Palm Grove Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Palm Grove Christian's record now sits at 4-0. As for Ruskin Christian, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Palm Grove Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 50-48 loss against New Jerusalem Christian Academy on the 21st. Hopefully Ruskin Christian paid attention to the Gators' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Gators at 7:00 p.m. on December 2.
