Briarwood Christian managed to slip by Central of Clay County the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Lions came up short against the Volunteers on Thursday, falling 8-2. The Lions' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Briarwood Christian's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 16-13. As for Central of Clay County, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-12 record this season.

Briarwood Christian will face off against Elmore County at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight. As for Central of Clay County, they will challenge Horseshoe Bend at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Volunteers are facing the Generals at the right time seeing as the Generals are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
