Basketball Recap: Glendale Prep Academy Comes Up Short

Glendale Prep Academy saw some tournament action on Friday. They lost to the Payson Longhorns on the road by a 42-28 margin.

Despite the loss, Glendale Prep Academy still got an impressive performance from Mikayla King, who posted 12 points. Those 12 points gave King a new career-high.

Payson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hannah Sarnowski led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. Sarnowski is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Grace DeSchaaf, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards.

Glendale Prep Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Payson, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-2.

Glendale Prep Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-43 win against Mohave Accelerated on the 7th. As for Payson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 51-45 defeat against Tournament Opponent on the 3rd.
