Basketball Recap: Wooster Christian Starts Season with Victory at Home

Wooster Christian took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They took down Varsity Opponent 63-44. The Eagles pushed the score to 57-35 by the end of the third, a deficit Varsity Opponent cut but never quite recovered from.

Camden Stoltzfus had an outrageously good game as he dropped a double-double with 31 points and 13 boards. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Schrock, who posted six points along with 11 rebounds and five steals.

Wooster Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Wooster Christian will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge Reimer Road Baptist Christian at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Varsity Opponent, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 89-51 loss against Temple Christian Academy on the 14th.
