Basketball Recap: Smith Comes Up Short

Smith was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 72-37 loss at the hands of Riverdale/Kingsbridge Academy. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Riverdale/Kingsbridge Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Smith's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Riverdale/Kingsbridge Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Smith will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Bronx United at 6:00 p.m. on the 27th. As for Riverdale/Kingsbridge Academy, they will square off against Walton on the 24th. Riverdale/Kingsbridge Academy will be up against the Wildcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 56 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
