Softball Recap: Waunakee Has No Trouble Against Tomahawk

Waunakee extended their winning streak to three on Saturday, bumping their season record up to 4-7 in the process. They put the hurt on the Tomahawk Hatchets with a sharp 18-3 win. That looming 18-3 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Warriors yet this season.

Audra Ubersox was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.

Waunakee was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2024.

As for Tomahawk, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. They have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

On Tomahawk's side, they saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aubrey Suebert, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Coincidentally, Waunakee and Tomahawk will both be playing Lodi the next time they take the field. The Warriors will host the Blue Devils at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Hatchets will play them later in the day, at 1:00 p.m.
