            Volleyball Recap: Waterbury Career Academy Spartans vs. Naugatuck Greyhounds        
        
		
        
        
            After flying high against Oxford  last Friday, Waterbury Career Academy came back down to earth. The Spartans lost  3-0 to the Naugatuck Greyhounds on Thursday. The Spartans were not able to make up for their  defeat to the Greyhounds from their previous meeting  back in October of 2024.
 While Waterbury Career Academy was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-16,  25-12.
 Waterbury Career Academy's loss  came despite strong showings from  Erika Mila-Perez and  Shamere Moore.  Mila-Perez  had 13  digs and two  aces, while  Moore  had ten  digs and one  assist. Mila-Perez is  on a roll when it comes to  aces, as she's  now  served two or more in each of the last three games she's  played.

With the  loss, Waterbury Career Academy broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 12-5. As for Naugatuck, their victory bumped their record up to 16-1.
 Waterbury Career Academy has already played their next match,  a  3-1  win against Torrington on the 17th. As for Naugatuck, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  3-0  victory against Ansonia on the 17th.
