Baseball Game Preview: Benjamin Franklin Falcons vs. Thomas Jefferson

The Benjamin Franklin Falcons will venture away from home to challenge Thomas Jefferson at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Benjamin Franklin has given up an average of 7.1 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Benjamin Franklin fell victim to L.W. Higgins and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 11-0 to the Hurricanes. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Hurricanes recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, Thomas Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Holden, falling 18-5.

Thomas Jefferson saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Byron Hernandez, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Even though they lost, Thomas Jefferson hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in five consecutive matchups.

Benjamin Franklin's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Thomas Jefferson, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.
