Basketball Game Preview: Cleveland Eagles vs. Franklin Quakers

Cleveland hasn't had much luck against Franklin recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Cleveland Eagles will host the Franklin Quakers at 7:00 p.m.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 64-30, which was the final score in Cleveland's tilt against Edmonds-Woodway on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 286th, while the Warriors are ranked 132nd).

Meanwhile, Franklin came tearing into last Friday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29 points) and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 48-24 victory. The Quakers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 24 points or more this season.

Franklin's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-3. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.5 points per game. As for Cleveland, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.
