Football Recap: Englewood Comes Up Short

Englewood had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-6 to make it six. They were dealt a 47-6 defeat at the hands of the Paxon School For Advanced Studies Golden Eagles. The Rams lost against the Golden Eagles in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 14-6 score last time.

As for Paxon School For Advanced Studies, they now have a winning record of 4-3. Considering they have won three matchups by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Kj Palmer continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 314 yards and five TDs while picking up 13.7 yards per carry. He is becoming a predictor of Paxon School For Advanced Studies' success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is undefeated (and 1-3 when he doesn't).

Looking ahead, Englewood will head out to challenge Riverside at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Paxon School For Advanced Studies, they will host Impact Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
