Southwestern was handed a 12-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over the Clinton County Bulldogs. For the Warriors, this counts as revenge for the 6-3 win the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

The team relied heavily on Chandler Taylor, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Jonah Brock, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Southwestern now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Clinton County, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southwestern will face off against North Laurel at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Clinton County, they will host Pickett County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
