Baseball Game Preview: Westfield Mustangs vs. Benjamin Davis Panthers

For the second straight game, Westfield will face off against Benjamin Davis. The Mustangs will head out to square off against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Westfield will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

Westfield headed into their last contest having not scored more than two runs for four straight, but Benjamin Davis let them put that streak behind them. The Mustangs were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over the Panthers on Wednesday. The Mustangs not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since February 26th (when they won 10-1).

For Benjamin Davis' part, Keithas Johnson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI. The Panthers are 2-1 when Johnson posts two or more stolen bases, but 5-16 otherwise.

Benjamin Davis has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season. As for Westfield, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 9-16 record.
