Soccer Recap: Freedom Comes Up Short

Freedom lost against Watauga back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Patriots came up short against the Pioneers, falling 7-0. While losing is never fun, Freedom can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 342nd, while Watauga are ranked 123rd).

Freedom has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12-1 record this season. As for Watauga, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6-1.

Coincidentally, Freedom and Watauga will both be playing Ashe County the next time they take the pitch. The Patriots will head out to face the Huskies at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Pioneers will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
