Basketball Game Preview: Fairhope Pirates vs. Salem Seminoles

The Fairhope Pirates will take on the Salem Seminoles in a tournament on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, Fairhope was able to grind out a solid victory over Mary G. Montgomery, taking the game 72-61. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while the Vikings are ranked 137th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Salem). They blew past Redan 76-51 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Seminoles have posted since February 2nd.

Fairhope has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.9 points per game. As for Salem, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
