Soccer Game Preview: Mountain View vs. North Stafford

The Mountain View Wildcats will take on the North Stafford Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mountain View's defense has only allowed 0.5 goals per game this season, so North Stafford's offense will have their work cut out for them.

North Stafford will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Mountain View extended their winning streak to three on Friday. The Wildcats never let Brooke Point get on the board and left with a 6-0 win. Mountain View's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three matches.

Meanwhile, North Stafford fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Massaponax on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, North Stafford can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while Massaponax are ranked seventh).

North Stafford's goal came courtesy of William Romero-Lovos, who's now up to two this season.

North Stafford now has a losing record of 2-3-1. As for Mountain View, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0-1.

Mountain View took their win against North Stafford when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolverines turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
