Preview: North Pontotoc vs. Belmont
On Friday North Pontotoc take on Belmont at 7:00 PM. North Pontotoc are coming into the game hot, having won six in a row.
North Pontotoc were the big favorite in their most recent match, and for good reason. They took their match against Baldwyn last Friday by a conclusive 35-7 score. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 21-0.
Meanwhile, Belmont have had to suffer through a 3-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took their matchup against Red Bay 21-14.
Their wins bumped Belmont to 2-3 and North Pontotoc to 6-0. In their win, North Pontotoc relied heavily on senior Corley Hooper, who rushed for 37 yards and 3 touchdowns. Belmont will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
