Basketball Recap: Bridgeton Bulldogs vs. Middle Township Panthers
Bridgeton and Middle Township squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Bridgeton had to settle for second. They lost 81-55 to the Middle Township Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 265th, while the Panthers are ranked 42nd).
It was another big night for Jamir McNeil, who went 8-for-15 to rack up 21 points and seven boards for Middle Township. McNeil's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amir Elston, who posted 13 points.
Bridgeton dropped their record down to 10-16 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Middle Township, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.
