Football Game Preview: Radford Bobcats vs. Appomattox County Raiders + How To Watch

The Radford Bobcats will be playing at home against the Appomattox County Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Radford knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Appomattox County likes a good challenge.

On Friday, Radford humbled Martinsville with a 41-12 victory. Given the Bobcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 270th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Peyton Dobbins was nothing short of spectacular: he threw for 140 yards and four TDs, and also rushed for 35 yards. His passing game has become a key predictor of Radford's success: the team is 4-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 2-3 otherwise.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Appomattox County against Nelson County on Friday as the squad secured a 38-7 victory. The Raiders' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Appomattox County pushed their record up to 6-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points over those games. As for Radford, their record is now 6-4.

Everything went Radford's way against Appomattox County when the teams last played back in November of 2023, as Radford made off with a 50-30 win. Do the Bobcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
