Basketball Recap: The Webb School Sets Scoring Season-High Against University School of Nashville

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask The Webb School). They blew past the University School of Nashville Tigers 85-49 on Friday. Given the Feet's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 58th, while the Tigers are ranked 314th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading The Webb School to victory were Laine Lyles and Daria Biriuk. Lyles went 9 of 14 on her way to 21 points along with seven boards and five steals, while Biriuk went 9 for 12 en route to 20 points and six steals. With that strong performance, Lyles is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Mcinturff, who went 5 for 9 on her way to 12 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists.

The Webb School is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.9 points per game. As for University School of Nashville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.

The Webb School didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-45 victory against Wilson Central on the 18th. University School of Nashville has also already played their next contest (against St. Cecilia Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
