Softball Recap: Liberty Comes Up Short

Liberty was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 11-5 to the Fairmont Senior Polar Bears. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mountaineers of the 9-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Liberty's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Fairmont Senior, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Looking ahead, Liberty will challenge Lincoln at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Fairmont Senior, they are taking a road trip to square off against Lewis County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Polar Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Minutemen have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
