Volleyball Recap: Joplin Eagles vs. Willard Tigers
Joplin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Willard Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in September.
While Joplin was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Willard's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-15, 25-16.
Leading Willard to victory were Ava Simpson and Kylin Vandever. Simpson had nine digs and one assist, while Vandever had nine digs and two aces.
Joplin's defeat dropped their record down to 2-21-1. As for Willard, they are on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 20 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7-2 record this season.
